This book is adapted from a lecture given by Prof. Stephen Adei at the Databank Leadership Conference held under the theme “Ghana: From Third World to First World” on June 17-18, 2004.
In his usual insightful but interesting style, Prof. Adei models the quality of leadership required to move Ghana forward into the future.
He starts by analyzing the record of development leadership in Ghana from independence till date.
In a comparative analysis with the Newly Industrialised countries (NICs) like Singapore and Malaysia, he outlines the coordinates of the leadership required to accelerate Ghana’s development.
Prof. Adei ends with an optimistic peek into the future and rallying call to the media, academia, the international community, the church and corporate leadership to play various roles in moving Ghana forward. He also proposes the formation of a “Ghana First Club of 200” who will engender a better and faster pace of improved leadership in Ghana.
